COVID-19 Protocols

All participants are required to comply with these and any additional Competition Organizer or local health authority requirements at all times while present on competition grounds. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the grounds

Please read the Prize List and the COVID Guidelines in their entirety

  1. This event will not be open to the public. No outside spectators will be permitted on the show grounds. Only event participants* will be allowed inside the building or onsite. There is a maximum of 200 people in the building at one time.

  2. All individuals must practice social distancing and masks must be worn at all times. Current guidelines call for a 6’ minimum spacing between individuals. Do NOT gather in groups.

  3. Every person attending the show grounds is required to complete and sign the required Liability Waiver. Parent/Guardian signature required for minors. 

  4. Garrison Arena will work with the show management to place hand sanitizer stations throughout the arena. This will give many opportunities for everyone to sanitize wherever they might be in the facility.

  5. All exhibitors will utilize the directional stairs as they are marked for entering and exiting the arena floor.

  6. There will be doors for entering only and exit only which will be marked clearly. These must be adhered to at all times that the building is open.

  7. The Garrison Arena food vendor, Carolina Catering, will be operating and there will be signage for line spacing and traffic flow so that they will be spacing available to maintain safe distances. Carolina Catering will follow all Clemson University COVID guidelines (i.e. masks, gloves) while serving food to the exhibitors.

  8. RV camping sites will be available and will be spaced out to maintain a minimum of 25ft between campers.

  9. Cleaning of touch points in both bathrooms and doors will occur on a two hour interval. Final cleaning and disinfecting will occur after the conclusion of the event every day. Garrison Arena protocol will include spraying down all handrails, doors and high traffic areas with EPA approved cleaning/disinfectant. All bathrooms will be sprayed down and wiped with this solution. All trash will be removed and all cans bagged.

  10. Garrison Arena will provide signage for direction for travel, requirements for entry into the building, spacing for physical distancing, and other covid related information that the university directives require.

  11. Participants and Support Personnel are required to self-monitor their temperature once daily prior to entering the competition grounds. The Event Staff will have their temperature monitored prior to the start each morning. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4° F (38° C) or higher may not enter the facility. • The following individuals are not allowed to enter the competition grounds: - Anyone who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, - Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within last 10 days, - Anyone who has tested positive outside of the past 10 days, but is still symptomatic, or - *Anyone who has been exposed to or has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19 within either the last  7-10 days (dependent upon certain criteria - refer to CDC Quarantine Options). *Exception: Healthcare personnel who have treated patients using appropriate medical grade PPE during the course of performing professional duties are exempted from this restriction. 

  12. If any person who was present on the competition grounds tests positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the conclusion of competition, the Competition Organizer, and local public health authorities must be notified immediately. Direct reports to piedmontpfha@gmail.com

  13. All individuals must practice social distancing (or physical distancing) at all times while on the competition grounds by staying at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from any person who is not a member of their immediate household. Members of the same household are still required to wear masks or face coverings at all times while on competition grounds. *Exceptions: Social distancing is not required while competing (including warm-up) in driving classes where more than one participant is riding in the horse-drawn carriage or cart. -  Individuals are allowed to be seated together while being transported by golf cart (or similar four-wheeled transport vehicle), but capacity may not exceed the number of seats on the cart or vehicle and all individuals must wear face masks or face coverings. - Congregating on or around a parked or stationary golf cart or vehicle is prohibited, unless the individuals are all visually identifiable as immediate household members, are all wearing face masks/face coverings, and do not exceed the seating capacity of the cart or vehicle.

  14. Wash hands often and adhere to other sanitization practices throughout the day.

  15. In the event the COVID-19 Guidelines are not followed, one warning ONLY will be issued, a second violation will result in disqualification without refund and expulsion from the grounds.

*Event participants include exhibitors, owners, trainers, lessees, riders, athletes, parents,  drivers, coaches, volunteers, personal care assistants, and any other required support personnel/staff that are essential for providing care to the horses and/or the athlete
